This notice explains which personal data is processed when you visit this website, for what purpose, and on what legal basis. It is a translation for convenience — theGerman version is the legally binding one.

Hosting and server logs

This site is hosted by Netlify (Netlify, Inc., 512 2nd Street, Suite 200, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). When you open a page, Netlify processes technically necessary access data as a processor on my behalf:

• the truncated or full IP address of the requesting device
• date and time of the request
• name and URL of the file retrieved, and the volume of data transferred
• browser and operating system used
• the previously visited page, where sent (referrer)

This processing is technically required to deliver the site, keep it stable and defend against attacks. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; my legitimate interest lies in operating the site securely and reliably. A data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place with Netlify.

As Netlify is a US company, data may be transferred to the United States. That transfer is based on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses under Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR; Netlify is additionally certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Despite these safeguards, access by US authorities cannot be ruled out.

Contact form

If you use the contact form, the details you enter — name, e-mail address, optionally your company, and the content of your message — are transmitted to Netlify Forms, held there for me, and forwarded to my e-mail address.

The data is processed solely to handle your enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where the enquiry concerns entering into or performing a contract, and otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in responding to enquiries).

For spam protection the form contains a hidden field (a "honeypot") that humans do not fill in. No cookies are set and no data is passed to third parties beyond Netlify.

Contact by e-mail

If you contact me directly by e-mail, I process your details in order to deal with your request. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR. Transport encryption is normally used; end-to-end encryption cannot be guaranteed.

Fonts

All fonts are served locally from this server. There is no connection to Google Fonts or any other external font service, so no data is transmitted to third parties.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies that require consent. The only thing stored is your light or dark mode preference, held in your browser's localStorage — on your device only, and never transmitted to me or anyone else.

Retention

Server logs are deleted after 30 days at the latest. Enquiries sent through the contact form or by e-mail are deleted once they have been dealt with, unless statutory retention obligations apply — for business correspondence that can be six or ten years under §§ 147 AO, 257 HGB.

Your rights

You have the following rights in relation to me as controller:

• access to the data held about you (Art. 15 GDPR)
• rectification of inaccurate data (Art. 16 GDPR)
• erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
• restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
• data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
• objection to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (Art. 21 GDPR)

An informal message to info@jami-it.de is enough to exercise any of these.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The authority responsible for me is the Hamburg Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information, Ludwig-Erhard-Straße 22, 20459 Hamburg, Germany.
